What’s It Made Of?

This fabric is woven from polyester monofilaments. Unlike traditional fibers, this material is a single, continuous polyester thread, creating a smooth, unbroken strand. To improve the performance of this material, Hestia engineers fuse it with a layer of PVC that greatly improves its waterproof capabilities. This PVC layer also enhances the fabric's structure to prevent fraying from constant rolling/unrolling.

How It’s Made

Hestia’s sun shade mesh fabric is woven—meaning warp yarns (vertical) and weft yarns (horizontal) are interlaced in a tight 1:1 grid pattern. This process results in a smooth, even surface with a clean and crisp texture.

This sunscreen fabric is used for light filtering roller shades, blocking 40%-50% of light. They can effectively reduce glare while still providing necessary illumination for indoor spaces.

Breathability

With a 5% openness factor, our sun shade mesh fabric allows for optimal air circulation, maintaining a well-ventilated indoor environment.

UV Blocking

While this fabric may not provide complete darkness like blackout fabric, it offers excellent UV protection. Commonly used in solar shades, it effectively blocks harmful ultraviolet rays, protecting your indoor furnishings and decor from UV damage.
