Today, let’s talk about a summer essential—Mesh Sunscreen Blinds. This versatile window treatment packs a punch with its UV-protective, waterproof, and mold-resistant properties. Its grid-like texture delivers a clean, modern look that’s both subtle and sophisticated.
At Hestia Blinds, our mesh sunscreen fabrics come in neutral tones—think soft gray and warm beige—that blend effortlessly into any interior style, whether you’re rocking a contemporary loft, a cozy traditional home, or an edgy industrial vibe.
What’s It Made Of?
This fabric is woven from polyester monofilaments. Unlike traditional fibers, this material is a single, continuous polyester thread, creating a smooth, unbroken strand. To improve the performance of this material, Hestia engineers fuse it with a layer of PVC that greatly improves its waterproof capabilities. This PVC layer also enhances the fabric's structure to prevent fraying from constant rolling/unrolling.

How It’s Made
Hestia’s sun shade mesh fabric is woven—meaning warp yarns (vertical) and weft yarns (horizontal) are interlaced in a tight 1:1 grid pattern. This process results in a smooth, even surface with a clean and crisp texture.
Key Features
Light Filtering
This sunscreen fabric is used for light filtering roller shades, blocking 40%-50% of light. They can effectively reduce glare while still providing necessary illumination for indoor spaces.
Breathability
With a 5% openness factor, our sun shade mesh fabric allows for optimal air circulation, maintaining a well-ventilated indoor environment.
UV Blocking
While this fabric may not provide complete darkness like blackout fabric, it offers excellent UV protection. Commonly used in solar shades, it effectively blocks harmful ultraviolet rays, protecting your indoor furnishings and decor from UV damage.
Waterproof and Mold-Resistant
Made from waster-resistant material, this fabric ensures long-term use in humid environments without the risk of mold growth. It maintains its beauty and functionality over time.
High Color Fastness
Boasting a color fastness rating of 4-5, our sunscreen fabric maintains its vibrant colors and resists fading, even with prolonged exposure to sunlight.
High Strength and Wear Resistance
Thanks to the high strength of polyester monofilament, the fabric has impressive tensile strength, making it durable and able to withstand significant tension. Additionally, it resists damage from friction, ensuring excellent wear resistance for long-lasting performance.
Ideal Applications
This fabric shines in rooms where light control and airflow matter most. Install it in:
Living Rooms: Create a cozy atmosphere for family gatherings.
