FAQs

Measuring

1. What are the consequences of mismeasuring my windows?

Miseasuring your windows can lead to blinds or shades that do not fit properly. Please read our Measuring Instructions carefully before placing an order. If you have any doubts or need assistance, feel free to contact our customer service team (see Contact Us at the bottom of this page).

2. How to measure my windows?

  1. Use a steel measure tape instead of a soft one to reduce errors and measure the height, width, and depth of your windows.
  2. Take precise measurements of your window openings. Do not assume similar windows are the same size—each one is unique.
  3. Record the measurements using our Measure Worksheet attached to the Measuring Instructions.

For more detailed instructions, you can click the Install and Measure module on the product page to review the measuring pictures and videos.

3. When measuring windows, should I round up or down to the nearest 1/8 inch?

Yes. If your window measurements fall between eighths of an inch, round down to the nearest 1/8" for width and round up to the nearest 1/8" for height. For example: 30-1/16" width would round down to 30" and 30-1/16" height would round up to 30-1/8".

4. What is the difference between "minimum inside mount depth" and "minimum flush mount depth"?

Minimum inside mount depth refers to the amount of depth required to securely mount a shade or blind inside the window frame. On the other hand, the minimum flush mount depth is the required depth for the blinds or shades to fit fully inside the window frame. It ensures that the valance fits snugly within the frame without protruding outward. For windows that have a shallow depth, you will be able to install the product (as long as the minimum depth required is met), but part of the item may be protruding from the opening.

5. Is in-home measuring and installation available?

No, we do not offer on-site measuring and installation services. However, we provide detailed Measuring Instructions and prompt customer services to ensure accurate results when you measure your windows at home.

6. How to get a detailed installation tutorial?

You can find the installation instructions on the bottom of our website or click for install tips . We also provide a printed installation instruction for each product. If you don't find these information, please contact our customer services.

8. What is the difference between various cellular shades?

Cellular shades come in various styles, each offering unique features. For instance, you can choose from light-filtering to blackout options for shading. Lift styles include cordless and remote control. Additionally, there is a wide range of colors to pick from, and prices vary based on these features.

9. What is the difference between inside and outside mount ?

Inside Mount involves installing blinds or shades inside the top of the window frame. The installation brackets are screwed into the 'ceiling' of the window opening. Inside mount is recommended when your window frame has enough depth for mounting and is ideal for most situations unless window depth or obstructions prevent it. On the other hand, Outside Mount means installing blinds or shades outside the window frame, on the wall or trim above the window. This approach is easier to install and provides better light blockage. However, it may appear bulkier since it covers the entire window area. Outside mount is used when windows are too shallow for inside mount or when there are obstructions (such as a window crank).

14. Do you provide cellular shades suitable for window depths of 1" or less?

15. Which shades can be side-mounted?

16. Does my product include mounting hardware?

Yes, it does! You will find the brackets and screws included with your purchase.

20. What is cordless lift?

Cordless lift allows you to control the movement of blinds and shades using a handle or your hand, lowering them or raising them up by leveraging the tension.

21. Should I choose blinds or curtains?

It depends on the style and size of your windows. Blinds work well for smaller windows, while curtains can complement larger ones. In addition, you can consider the functionality you need. Blinds provide precise light control, allowing you to adjust slats. Curtains offer better insulation and privacy.

22. What blinds are suitable for large windows?

Roller shades, cellular shades, faux wood blinds, and vertical blinds will work well for large windows.
