Inside Mount Only for No-Drill
No-drill tension blinds must be installed inside the window frame. They are not suitable for inward-opening windows or outside-mount installation.
Minimum 1.5" Window Depth Required
The headrail needs at least 1.5 inches of recess depth to seat properly. Measure your window depth before ordering.
Smooth Surfaces Only
Tension mounts grip best on smooth frames: tile, marble, glass, aluminum, painted wood. Textured or crumbling surfaces are not compatible.
Room Darkening, Not Blackout
Expect 80-90% light blocking. Some light passes through slat edges and cord holes. If you need total darkness, consider our blackout roller shades or cellular shades.

Will no-drill tension blinds fall down over time?
No. Unlike adhesive-mounted blinds that lose grip as tape degrades, our tension system uses calibrated spring compression to press outward against the window frame. The pressure actually increases as the blind weight pulls down, creating a self-reinforcing lock. If your window frame is smooth and the included tightening tool is properly used during installation, the blind stays put.
What types of windows work with the no-drill option?
The no-drill tension mount works with sliding windows, single-hung and double-hung windows, awning windows, casement windows, and bay windows, provided the inside frame surface is smooth and the recess depth is at least 1.5 inches. It is not compatible with inward-opening windows because the blind would block the sash. If your frame material is tile, marble, glass, aluminum, or painted wood, you are good to go.
Can I use these in a shower window?
Yes. The PVC slats are 100% waterproof and will not warp, peel, or grow mold even with direct water contact. Many of our customers install them in shower windows where steam and splashing are constant. After a shower, you can simply wipe the slats with a dry cloth or let them air-dry.
